Biography

Dr. Bob Cheng was born in Tainan, Taiwan in 1940. He arrived in the United States in 1965, settling in Syracuse, New York. He worked as a chemist and entrepreneur, building a successful career before dedicating himself to documenting Taiwanese American history.

T.A. Archives (台美史料中心)

Dr. Cheng founded the T.A. Archives in 2013, initiating the project “The History of Taiwanese Americans in the Last Six (6) Decades.” He compiled photo albums and historical archives over two decades before his passing in 2020.

The archive at taiwaneseamericanhistory.org now contains 2,227+ Taiwanese American profiles, a comprehensive encyclopedia (Our Journeys), extensive photo albums, and archival documents — all driven by his vision of preserving and promoting Taiwanese American heritage.

Legacy
